Cars, Trucks, Bikes, and the Like! (Part One) (UPDATE)

Having cars in The Sims 4 would be another Christmas to me.

I loved how it worked in The Sims 2. You had your car in the driveway, your Sim got in it, backed out, drove until they were off screen, and it loaded you via screen into the next destination.

In Sims 3, your Sim actually drove all the way there. I loved that too, but I will say that it did not help my older laptop (R.I.P. Toshiba Satellite) perform very well graphically.

Since The Sims 4 seems to have been made to target more (and lower performing) desktops and laptops, I think if cars were introduced into the game, then they would work like in Sims 2, except with a little longer driving time.

I can imagine cars being added to either a game pack, or a full expansion. Part of me would like to see it in a game pack because then it would be the focus and not just an additive.

It wouldn't be just cars. Bikes, motorcycles, trikes (for the toddlers) scooters, and other economical ways should be a part of it, too!

If it doesn't get added this time around, this could also count for the Fifth Installment as well.

So... let's begin this.

New Town
Downtown Talladega (or something like that--something speed-related).
Part Urban, part suburban town with lots of roads and buildings for businesses
Maybe a little dirt-road, tree-loaded neighborhood for more rogue Sims
Secret lots for driving and motorcycle riding purposes...?
Bike lanes!

I can't begin on what that would look like right now. I would probably base the architecture/scenery off of Talladega in Alabama.

This last picture is the city itself. I like how the cars are parked in front of the businesses.

Types of Cars
You know how in The Sims, you start with a hoop-a-joop junker, and the last one is an amazing, blow-your-freaking socks off does, does everything for you, probably intergalactic hover car?

I was thinking on the lines of that.

I can see this as the design for the Hoop-a-Joop Junker. Only $200 Simoleons.
This would be one that the Sim would have to attempt to get it fixed, because it would definitely come with some of these problems (Gurus can add whichever ones they see fit):

Flat Tire (most likely) or Worn Out Tires
Broken Headlights or Tail Lights
Engine Issues
Transmission Leak
Sugar In Gas Tank (Enemy, Evil, Mean, and Jealous Sims can cause this, too.)
Broken Steering Wheel
Uncomfy Seating
Ugly, Rusty, Ruined Paint Coat

It would negatively affect Comfort, Fun and Energy if you got the Hoop-A-Joop Junker. Getting out the car would bring a negative moodlet, too. Also, it would be more likely to cause a crash (probably into the side of the road, into a ditch, or a tree) because the car just sucks that much.

This is a vehicle I could place in the Fair Condition category. I want to say... maybe $500-1000 Simoleons in price. It has its bits and pieces of cosmetic issues. It also may have some interior issues such as:

Flat Tires/A lot of Wear
Some Engine Defects or mechanical issues
Some Visual Flaws but less than the Hoop-A-Joop Junker.

All of it would be repairable, though. It would probably still be an uncomfortable ride with a loud cabin, though. It would still have a chance to be in a crash, though. I'll get those numbers in a little while. It would also bring a negative moodlet for that aforementioned uncomfiness of the car.

In the Good Condition basket, here's this car. You're going to need $3000 Simoleons at least to grab this one. It's most likely one that was given to someone and they decided to sell it because they had upgraded. There won't be any major body damage to it; maybe a few dings on the interior and exterior. No rust whatsoever. Their tires won't be flat, but there would be some wear to them.

It would also be more comfortable to ride (+2 comfort). It wouldn't be draining to ride, but it's not all that fun, either. It's... just a meh car.

A lot of the cars would fall into this category, so here are some more pictures!

(Sorry for the uneven pictures.)

Then, there are your Excellent Condition, or new vehicles. Your dream car. There would be at least five of them and they start from $7500+ Simoleons.

Nothing is wrong with them. The cabins are quiet and they are fun as well as comfortable to ride. There wouldn't be any issues except for maintenance, and their chances of crashing are really low. They are even free of wear and tear.

(This is honestly my dream car, a Mazda 3. This one is the 2018 Grand Touring, I think.)

Each car would come with three to five swatches of colors.

Oh, yeah! Taxis and limos would be in there, too.

Bikes, Scooters and Trikes

If Economical-Oriented Sims do not want to contribute to pollution, then bikes are the way to go.

They wouldn't have as many issues as cars would, but they could still get dirty, broken, or get flat tires from lack of air, somesim who is full of hate or even a rock in the ground.

Some bike examples would be:

This old thing. It gets the job done, but it comes with issues and could be wobbly with an uncomfortable bike seat. $25 Simoleons.

Just your standard bikes. Doesn't hurt but it's only a tiny bit of fun to ride. $79-$150 Simoleons.

Now, this one would be fun to ride and would be more comfortable than most bikes. $10000 Simoleons.

Children's bikes would be a bit smaller, and if they had trike wheels on them, they would probably be embarrassed to ride it to school or to the park. Toddlers, well, they probably wouldn't care.

These would probably cost around $50-$200 Simoleons.

Toddlers bikes would have to come with trikes at first, and once they reach their full movement skill, then the parents can remove the extra wheels for them.

Motorcycles
Like the outdoors but hate feeling like you're surrounded by a metal coffin? A motorcycle is for these types of Sims.

A battered old one will puff smoke in the air, annoy your neighbors, rattle even your nerves, and will cost you more to fix it than the $350 Simoleons you spent.

So get a good condition one that won't further burn a hole in your pocket for at the least, $499 Simoleons. It even comes clean!

If you need to show off to that rival biker gang, though, shilling out $5000 Simoleons could bring you this sweet ride! It adds comfort and a lot of fun!

Just don't leave it unattended for too long. Someone with a bit of Mischief, an itch to steal, and time could swipe this baby from you.

This is actually a lot to go through... Part 2 will be up at some point!

EDIT: Since I have so many ideas for this game among other life things, I will try to be as consistent as I can be. Time management is something I still have to learn!
